Stevensville Main Street Association – 102-B Main St./PO Box 18, Stevensville, MT 59870

The Main Street Association facilitates the projects, preservation and revitalization of our town.  The Four Points Approach of organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Restructuring provides stability to build and maintain the long-term effort of revitalization, creates excitement downtown, enhances the look of our town and strengthens our current business economy.  Any of the four committees could use your expertise.  it takes teamwork to sponsor the events and projects of our community.  Call Joan Prather at (406) 777-3773 or send her an email.

Stevensville Civic Club – PO Box 676, Stevensville, MT 59870

A volunteer organization that promotes the involvement of citizens of all ages in projects and activities, which enhance the quality of life in our community.  Current programs include the Creamery Picnic, the 4th of July Pig-nic, Parade of Lights, and the maintenance of the Lewis and Clark Park.  In conjunction with the school, a new program for students to letter in Civics is now in place.  Call Robin Holcomb at 777-7804.

Senior Citizen Center – 100 Mission St., Stevensville, MT 59870

Offering many social programs and services for area seniors, including bingo, exercise programs, pinochle, cribbage and monthly birthday parties.  Lunch served 5 days per week Monday – Friday at 11:30am – Seniors $3.50 per meal and people under 60 yrs. $6.00 per meal.  Contact Ken Krout/President at (406) 207-2584 or the Senior Center at (406) 777-5681.

Stevensville Museum – 517 Main St., Stevensville, MT 59870

Preserving our local heritage, the museum is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Volunteer opportunities include 2.5 hour shifts at the museum to give out information, grounds keeping and light cleaning.  Help is also needed to organize the annual fundraising events:  Used Art and Jewelry Sale in May, Yard Sale in June and Wine Tasting in September.   Contact Chris Weatherly at (406) 531-6337.

Stevensville Community Foundation - PO Box 413, Stevensville, MT 59870

A non-profit corporation, the Foundation provides grants for community projects and programs, examples are the North Valley Library, the Senior Center, Stevensville Main Street Association and the Stevensville Museum.  The largest projest in the works is the creation of the Stevensville Community Center.   Contact Bob Thomas/President at (406) 363-1222.

North Valley Public Library - 208 Main Street, Stevensville, MT 59870

Having a community library is essential!  Help preserve our library by donating carpentry skills for bookshelves and building refurbishment.  Shelving, cataloging, and reading hours are other opportunities, as wells a helping with the Book Sales.  Library Hours: Monday 12-7pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 10am-7pm, Thursday and Friday 12noon – 7pm, Saturday 10am-5pm.  Contacts: Amy Ling/Library Assistant or Desirée Dramstad/Director at (406) 777-5061.

Historic St. Mary’s Mission – 401 W. 4th Street, Stevensville, MT 59870

A valuable aspect of our local heritage.  the Mission could use Volunteers April – October for grounds keeping, building maintenance and as tour guides.  Hosts for the Visitor Center and Gift Shop are needed year round.  The annual “Cow Pie Bingo” held in July during Summerfest is their main fundraising event to which you could contribute your time and talent.  Contact Colleen Meyer at (406) 777-5734.

Stevensville Playhouse - 319 Main Street, Stevensville, MT 59870

Our local theatre produces a myraid of shows year round.  The Chantilly could always use your creative talent to help paint, design and build the props and sets, create costumes, engineer sound and light, and oh yeah, can you act?  Contact Dan or Jan DePauw at (406) 777-3751.

Genesis House – 116 College Street, Stevensville, MT 59870

A transitional home for women with mental illness, teaching them the life skills necessary to regain independence.  Volunteer opportunities include driving the women to Riverview House in Missoula for job training, one on one mentoring and companionship. Donations of household items and clothing are always welcome.  Contact Donna Thompson at (406) 777-3751.

Stevensville School Volunteers

Recognizing the value of multi-generational relationships, Stevensville Family Resource center mixes adults with children in programs including reading, tutoring, and field trips.  Help with arts and crafts at the after school program.  Seniors, ask about volunteer compensation programs!  K-6 Volunteers call 777-5631 Ext. 351 Lisa Butler – Family Resource Coordinator.  After School Program: Kid’s First call Jenelle Semple at 375-9588.

Stevensville Volunteer Fire Department

Help keep us safe, volunteer firefighters are always needed!  Special Training is provided.   Call Bob Summers at 777-3270.

A basic need of life is nourishment, help the less fortunate in our community not only by donating non-perishable food items but also by donating your time to help organize, catalog and distribute goods.   Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am to 2:30pm donations taken during business hours. Garden Club

Help keep our community beautiful!  Along with other beautification projects, the Garden Club takes responsibility for the planters that line our Main Street.  Do you have a green thumb?  Would you like to exercise your green thumb?  Contact Mary Baughn/President at (406) 777-4196 through April; after April, Contact Nina Eadie/President at (406) 961-6822.

Stevensville Booster Club

The Booster club exists to support and enhance the extra-curricular activities of the students in our community.  Activities include the Christmas Bazaar, sale of school spirit clothing, and the 50/50 raffle at home games.  Contact Duane Baney at (406) 777-0059.

American Legion 

The world’s largest Veterans Organization that is dedicated to serving our Veterans, Servicemen, their families, and Americanism Programs.  Youth programs include: Bitterroot Bucs Baseball, Boy Scouts, and the National Oratorical Program, as well as many other activities in Stevensville, Florence and Victor areas.  Contact Ron Toomer at (406) 777-3834.

The Clothes Closet  – 3862 ALC Way, Stevensville, MT 59870

A FREE store of recycled clothes, small kitchen equipment, and household linens.  Hours: 1-4pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, except Holidays or as announced, donations accepted Monday, Wednesday, Saturday 1-3:30pm.  Winter hours: Wed & Saturday  1PM to 4PM.  Contact Gail Fisher/Manager at (406) 777-5694  or Molly Hackett/President at (406) 961-4614.
